About me
Prior to becoming a coach, most of my working life was spent in the magazine and newspaper publishing business. Over the years I have worked in advertising sales, marketing, distribution and circulation, both as an employee and an employer.
During my time in publishing I was instrumental in planning and implementing many new marketing strategies that resulted in consistently beating sales targets and hugely increasing circulation figures for a number of publications.
I always enjoyed dealing with customers and improved my communication skills and sales techniques constantly. I enjoy working as part of a team and have experienced how a great work atmosphere can help produce great results from members of staff.
I have a Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and enjoy every aspect of helping a business grow from strength to strength.
Why I became a Coach
Throughout my life I have been fascinated by personal development and enjoy helping people discover their true potential. We are all far more capable than we realise but we tend to let fear stop us in our tracks.
I have spent time working in homeless hostels both as a volunteer and a paid member of staff and love encouraging people to try and achieve something with their lives.
I became a coach because I feel I have the right outlook and personal attributes that can help people move forward.
I trained as a personal performance coach at Europe's number one coach training organisation: The Coaching Academy. Since qualifying I have been rewarded time and time again by witnessing the successes and positive changes achieved by my clients.
My role as a coach is to support my clients and encourage them to overcome any obstacles that are holding them back. I help people discover what they really want out of life and assist them in planning how to get it. The answers lie within my clients, my skill is in bringing those answers out in the open through challenging questioning and in helping each client devise an appropriate action plan.
To enhance my coaching abilities I trained as an NLP Master Practitioner and also became a licensed Hypnotic Practitioner, licensed by the Society of Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
I was trained by Dr Richard Bandler, the founder of NLP, Paul McKenna, the well-known personal development expert, John Lavall and Michael Neil.
On a personal note, I am a keen runner and have managed to lose nearly two stone since taking up running 2 years ago. I have a wide knowledge of health and fitness and enjoy encouraging others towards a healthy lifestyle.
